Tiger Woods: A Player On and Off the Course

He has been proclaimed as the greatest golfer ever. He is the youngest and the fastest person in the world of golf to ever win 50 tournaments while on the PGA tour. He also has 14 professional Major championships under his belt. Oh yeah, and he’s married to Swedish model Elin Nordegren. Sounds like Tiger Woods had everything going his way; or maybe not.

On Friday, November 27, 2009, at approximately 2:30 in the morning, Tiger Woods crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree outside his house in Windermere, FL. According to a source, authorities believed that Woods hadn’t crashed at all; thinking he may have been attacked by Nordgren. However, the situation changed when Woods allegedly confessed the truth behind the matter and took full responsibility for the accident in an interview with press reporters.

Despite his honesty, the severity of his actions should not be overlooked. A young lady by the name of Jaimee Grubbs, 24, came clean about her secret affair with Woods. Grubbs stated the she and woods “had sex over 20 times in 31 months.” It is believed that Woods’ affairs did not stop there. The names of his other “mistresses” are going to be revealed shortly.

Balloon Boy Story A Scam

When the world tuned in to CNN last Thursday, they were shocked at what they were hearing. The story left people questioning the parenting and supervision of Falcon Heene after reporters told us that there was a chance that the young boy could have made his way onto a hot air balloon right before it took off. After hours of investigation, the young boy was found in the garage of the family’s home. Was this incident “real” or was there some other incentive behind it?

This story is now beginning to stir up some controversy among people from around the world. According to CNN, Richard and Mayumi Heene and their three children appeared on ABC’s hit show “Wife Swap” some time before the incident. Some say that the Heenes enjoyed the fame and publicity so much that they would do anything to have the camera around them. These accusations turned out to be true.

During an interview, Falcon Heene states that he thought they were performing this stunt to gather media attraction. Whether or not this statement made by the 6 year old is still being investigated by officials.

Pingback-”Student’s Bill of Rights”

While I was looking at one of my student blogs, I came across a post that was significantly related to me. It was called the “Student Bill of Rights”. The writer talks about their view on certain privileges that students should be given. A few of these include the permission of gum chewing in class, the gaining of free time or breaks during the school day, and also the gaining of extra time for physical education. I feel that the writer poses a solid argument for the obtaining of these privileges. They all contain legitimate results toward benefiting the work and social ethic of students. As a student, I can strongly relate to the topics discussed. In my eyes, gum chewing helps students not only focus during the day but, according to the Children’s Nutrition Research Center at Baylor University, it may also improve student’s test scores. If student’s were given free time during the course of the school day, after break they would return to class focused and relieved of any built up energy. The extension of physical education classes would also help resolve the issue of overly hyper students. Please feel free to comment and leave your opinions.
